About:A contemporary series of landscape designs by artist Clare Millen. “My paintings are an expression of the joy I feel when I connect with landscape. I love to explore wild and natural places both near and far walking, sketching, and taking photos that I can then use as starting points for my work. My paintings, though firmly anchored in landscape, are always semi-abstract as I like to respond to different memories simultaneously – building, scraping and scoring surfaces in order to expose the history of the piece. Although unpredictable and often intense, this way of working allows me the freedom to explore colour and surface through my emotion and intuition.”
