About: “Tranquility” is a limited edition series of landscape artwork, created by Penny Frith.
“Penny draws inspiration from her travels to the scenic coastlines and landscapes of the UK and France. She strives to convey a sense of tranquility along with a luminous light filled quality through use of colour and proportion. The vista and skies in Penny’s work all start from somewhere she’s been, but the abstract nature captures something emotional rather than figurative, evoking the feeling of somewhere known and loved.” Cambridge Contemporary Art.
Medium: Limited to an edition run of 99, each image is printed using a12 colour gicle fine art printing processonto a luxurious 410gsm Hahnemhle Monet cotton canvas material. The printed canvas is then carefully hand stretched over a chunky 38mm deep stretcher bar frame milled from the finest quality kiln dried knotless pine sourced from sustainable European forests. Artist Info: Penny Frith lives and works in Cambridge. She completed an art foundation course at CCAT in Cambridge before graduating with a degree in Graphic Design in 1991. Following a successful career in animation including winning first prize at The Nimes film festival for her animated film “Surface”, she’s rediscovered her love of painting, particularly in oils, and exhibits her work with Cambridge Contemporary Art and participates in Cambridge Open Studios
